Lafayette's Krewe of Triton held their 41st Annual Gumbo Cook-Off Saturday in Scott.
Several teams prepared their best gumbo recipe for the competition.
This won't be the only Carnival event for the Krewe - their parade and ball will be held later this month.
The ball is planned for Saturday, February 22, and the 2020 Krewe of Triton Parade is set to roll on Monday, February 24.
David Crouch, King Triton XLI, said the best part of a gumbo is the roux - that's why his gumbo at today's cook-off was called "The Royal Roux."
This year's cook-off featured nine teams.
"It's more than we've ever had," said Crouch. "So it gets bigger every year. We're having a lot of fun."
