Details of Lafayette emergency declaration released

Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory has released the details of the emergency declaration he signed yesterday.

Once an emergency is declared, elected officials can take extraordinary measures to protect the public, including closures and curfews. Guillory mentioned the declaration during his press conference yesterday. We obtained a copy of it this morning.

You can read the declaration for yourself below, but part of it states that "immediate emergency actions are required to minimize the effects of this public health emergency, including, but not limited to, taking measures to restrict person-to-person contact."
