The Daily Advertiser is reporting that Lafayette Mayor-President candidate Carlee Alm-Labar has agreed to a debate proposed by Republican candidate Josh Guillory.

The debate is scheduled to take place on November 13, just days before the runoff election.

It will be live, broadcast by 96.5 KPEL and will be moderated by KPEL's Bernadette Lee and Rob Kirkpatrick. Video of the debate will also be made available.

No party candidate Carlee Alm-Labar made the announcement Thursday evening in a Facebook post, saying, "Finally, we can get back to the issues voters want to hear about."

The agreement comes shortly after Alm-Labar accused her opponent of avoiding a debate. Read more about that here.

Guillory proposed three potential debate dates on Monday in a post on Facebook. There, he said he wants to "give voters an opportunity to see and hear the candidates before going to the polls."
