The Ragin' Cajuns football team is in Tennessee this evening as they prepare for the Sunbelt Championship game against Appalachian State.

The team took off this afternoon around 3:00 from the Lafayette Regional Airport.

As the Ragin' Cajuns prepare for Saturday's big game against Appalachian State, they're taking in some of the comforts of home on the plane.

Nico Yantko, the Ragin' Cajuns Deputy Director of Athletics said the team was fed Olde Tyme.

The Cajuns are 10 and 2 as they come off of a historic season. They're pumped for the second year in a row, they are competing for the Sunbelt Championship game.

"You can't beat that. Coach Napier and the team have done such a tremendous job," Yantko said. "These guys are dialed into this game. They're 100% focused on getting up there, competing in Boone and coming home with a trophy to boot."

Yantko also said it's great for the Cajuns to be in the national spotlight.

"Anytime you get to put that Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns brand on a national spotlight, it does wonders for us. We grow our fan base, we reach new households and it helps us on a recruiting front."

With the excitement of the Cajuns season, that means big sales for UL merchandise.

"We're almost conference champs and then a bowl game. Yes, people are excited. We're back where we were and people are coming in with big smiles," said Sarah Armentor with the Ragin' Cajuns Store. "What you spend on campus stays on campus. That helps students, athletes and everybody."

The Cajuns kickoff at 11:00 Saturday morning and you can watch the game on ESPN.
