The Welsh Police Department has introduced their new K-9 officer, Storm.
Storm is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois. Storm is a dual-purpose K-9 that was trained by Robert Abshire of US K-9 Unlimited for narcotics detection, handler protection, tracking, and apprehension.
Officer D. Amrine, the department's K-9 handler, also attended an extensive five-week handler certification course at US K-9 Unlimited.
The department said Officer Amrine and Storm will be a "huge asset" to the department as well as the entire community of Welsh as they combat the ongoing drug epidemic.
