SOWELA Technical Community College is pausing all onsite instruction effective immediately at the Lake Charles, Jennings, and Oakdale locations due to increasing health concerns related to COVID-19.
Administrators are working with the Louisiana Community and Technical College System to monitor the situation daily to determine when to safely resume onsite instruction.
SOWELA will resume classes on Monday, March 23, through an online instructional method only for courses that can be delivered in such format. Technical courses requiring hands-on instruction will pause and resume once it is safe to provide them in a face-to-face format.

SOWELA will work with students who have limited access to technology on a case-by-case basis. Instructional labs on all campuses will not be available for use by students until it is safe to do so.
