Clay Chance LeBlanc, 23, of Lake Arthur, died Sunday after sustaining injuries in a rodeo.
LeBlanc was participating in the FFA Benefit Rodeo when, during his ride, he was injured.
He was brought to the Rapides Regional Medical Center where he died on Sunday.
LeBlanc was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School and was an active member of the Cajun Rodeo Association. He was known as "Pancake" to his godchildren and was "endlessly polite with a gentle nature."
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, at the Oustalet Center in Lake Arthur at 1 p.m. and continue overnight. A rosary will be recited at 6 a.m. Friday morning with a wake to follow.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church; burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetary.
LeBlanc leaves behind, among a host of family and friends, his fiancee Keelie Dominique Gatte and his son Cooper Wayne Leblanc.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made at Jeff Davis Bank under the Clay LeBlanc Memorial to ensure that his son, Cooper, may follow in his father's footsteps one day.
