As local officials around Acadiana set curfews to keep citizens safe, we'll post the information here.
Here's what we have so far:
ST. MARY PARISH
Town of Berwick officials will be enforcing a curfew from 11 a.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday.
The City of Morgan City will also be under a curfew from 11 a.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday due to Hurricane Francine moving into the area.
ST. MARTIN PARISH
Due to extensive power outages, St. Martin Parish President Pete Delcambre will impose a curfew for lower St. Martin Parish residents (Stephensville and Belle River only) from dusk this evening, Thursday, September 12, 2024, until dawn on Friday, September 13, 2024.
IBERIA PARISH
Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard declared a curfew for ALL of Iberia Parish, Louisiana, including the municipalities of Delcambre, Jeanerette, Loreauville and New Iberia, beginning Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until Thursday September 12, 2024 @7:00 a.m.
This curfew prohibits and/or controls pedestrian and vehicular traffic, except essential emergency vehicles and personnel. The curfew does not apply to anyone going to and from their place of employment for purposes of work or any other critical or essential business activity as specifically defined by the United States Department of Homeland Security, Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency.
There will be a curfew in the City of Jeanerette from 8 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday, and again from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday. There are exemptions in some cases, click hereto read the order.
