In New Iberia, a local ministry is doing what it can to help feed people in the community.
Perro's Blessing Outreach Ministries handed out meals to hundreds of hungry people on Saturday.
The church says it's thankful it can give back and they're thankful for all their volunteers.
"They love what we are doing," explained CEO Joyce Perro. "They keep telling us to keep doing what we're doing because this is what we need. We need our community to get back together again."
The organization adds that they are planning several other community fundraisers to continue to give back and help those in need.
