Some in New Iberia are hoping to get their message across to put an end to gun violence.
A rally was held at City Hall today, where families of murder victims shared their stories on how violent crimes have impacted their lives.
They hope to encourage other to put the guns down.
Khadijah Rashad, an activist who participated in today's rally, said, "It's just networking, letting people know true to power will always remain the same. It takes us to show those that we elected that we're not clowning, this is serious."
