One person is dead after a Wednesday night shooting on Soileau Street.
Police Chief Neal Lartigue tells KATC the shooting happened between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. near the intersection of Soileau Street and Edward "Knotoe" Thomas Street. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Lartigue says investigators have identified a person of interest, but police will not release that person's name until the investigation is completed. A motive has not yet been determined.
