Basile is hosting the 52nd Annual Louisiana Swine Festival this weekend, November 1-3, at the Town Park Recreational Center.
The event is meant to educate and celebrate Cajun history, according to their website.
Some activities at the festival will include a boudin eating contest, a hog calling contest, a talent show, and a pork cookoff.
Along with fun events, there will also be live performances by artists including Clay Cormier & The Highway Boys, Dustin Sonnier & The Wanted, and Keith Frank and The Soileau Zydeco Band.
On Saturday night, the festival will televise the LSU v. Alabama game.
Admission is $5/person. Concessions will be available as well.
Jynlee Conner, Teen Miss Louisiana Swine Festival, said of the event, "It brings the community together, it's a nice family type event...a lot of good memories, lots of fun, dancing, eating."
