Funeral services were held today for Ronald "Big T" Doucet of Ville Platte, who served as the City Marshal for 11 years.
Doucet died on October 13. His funeral was held today at St. John Baptist Church in Ville Platte. Following the service, a law enforcement motorcade took place down Main Street.
Mayor Jennifer Vidrine asked people to line Main Street to pay their final respects to the Marshal.
Doucet started his political career in Ville Platte over 20 years ago.
Vidrine said the loss of Vidrine is "gigantic" for the city.
Doucet is survived by his wife, parents, two daughters, one brother, one grandchild, and a host of relatives and friends.
