Two mother and son duos are now wanted for questioning in connection with a residential burglary in Evangeline Parish earlier this week.

According to a Friday release from Sheriff Eddie Soileau, deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Miller's Lake Road for a burglary. On arrival, officers learned that two unidentified male subjects entered the residence through a window in the rear of the home. They were both wearing dark colored hoodies and their faces appeared to be covered. The subjects were driving a green Chevrolet Lumina with temporary tags.

The investigating detective received anonymous tips in regards to the burglary, resulting in contact with Shannon Fontenot, the owner of the vehicle seen in the crime scene photos.

Fontenot's juvenile son is listed as a person of interest. Fontenot and her son are wanted for further questioning. Also wanted for questioning at this time is Trincal Herbert-Collins along with her juvenile son.

KATC's Jordan Lippincott spoke with the homeowners earlier this week, who said they were worried about their safety and concerned that local authorities were not doing enough in regards to the burglary investigation.

Homeowner Trina Richardson believes the burglars targeted her home.

"They knew where to come in at. They knew were my cameras were," she told KATC. She alleges detectives "overlooked" a wire cutter used in the burglary and added the cutter was still sitting on the floor in her home. Richardson said she felt vulnerable and that she didn't know what authorities were doing in response to the case.

No one was home at the time. The suspects left with thousands of dollars worth of property, including three guns and $3,000 in cash.

KATC reached out to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, who said they were unaware of the homeowners' complaints and would address them during the course of the investigation.

Evidence from the scene will be submitted to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.
