Rayne Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Friday evening shortly after the Rayne v Eunice football game at Rayne High School.
Shortly after the game, shots were reported fired at 9:41 p.m. on Stadium Drive away from the stadium and not on school property. Officers working security at the game responded and discovered several vehicles were struck by bullets.
Officers then received a call that a gunshot victim was at Acadia General in Crowley and detectives responded to the hospital. They soon learned that he was shot on the corner of Lyman Avenue and MLK Drive.
Detectives are interviewing several witnesses and suspects and believe the two incidents are connected.
The investigation is ongoing.
