The Acadiana Mall is set to close up shop at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, which means it's time to scurry for last minute shoppers. The usual well-known department stores continue to see floods of customers, but some smaller stores like Blu Spero and Maylea are also feeling the pressure.
It's a chaotic scene for the last few days but employers are committed to helping those who put off the gift picking until the very end. One customer who came in with just a picture, says he was clueless but left with the perfect gift.
"So, I came in for my girlfriend, last minute shopping for her mom because she forgot so I got pinned with the last minute shopping," said Rene Toups. "Walking into a store with nothing but ladies and earrings, I have no idea what I'm looking at. It's nice to have somebody to just help you."
