A Crowley man has been arrested on forcible rape and domestic abuse battery charges after police responded to what a possible domestic abuse incident earlier this week.
Police say officers responded to a possible domestic abuse incident in the 800 block of South Parkerson on Tuesday, February 25, around 12:40 p.m.
Investigators spoke with a 26-year-old victim, who said that the alleged suspect, identified as Gregory James Girouard, 32, had choked her and pulled a gun on her the night before. She also told police that on a previous occasion, the man held her down and raped her.
According to police, the woman was trying to retrieve her property and leave the residence where she had lived with the man for about three years.
Detectives were able to issue warrants on the suspect based on evidence and injury reports from a local hospital.
Girouard was arrested on one count each of False Imprisonment (Offender Armed), Forcible Rape, and Domestic Abuse Battery.
He was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail and is being held without bond.
