LAFAYETTE, La - Vermilionville is continuing to host monthly workshops that will allow you to learn crafts from master artisans.

Every month (exceptions do occur), Vermilionille will highlight a different craft from the old Acadian, Creole and Native American ways of life. Topics will range from woodcarving to textiles to foodways and many things in between.

During the March 7th workshop, guest artisan Mimi DelGizzi will be teaching The Art of Cheese Making in Vermilionville's Cooking School. The cost for this workshop is $65, and is limited to ten students.

The fee covers the cost of ingredients and all the needed tools, which includes pots, pans, strainers, thermometers, spoons, etc.

Mimi will be leading the class in making two different cheeses. You will be able to take the tools home with you, as well as the cheeses you make in class.
