Lafayette Police have identified the woman killed Saturday night while trying to cross the street with her son.
Jasmun Ozenne and her son, whom police refused to identify by name, were trying to cross the frontage road near Citi Trends on Evangeline Thruway. They were struck by a vehicle; one died at the scene and the other died at the hospital, police say.
Police say Preston Edward, 60, was the driver in the crash that happened last night on Evangeline Thruway. He remains in the Lafayette Parish jail with bond set at $155,000 for two counts vehicular homicide and one count OWI, records show.
