The Lafayette Parish Association of Educators, the parish's larger teacher organization, has called a press conference for tomorrow.

LPAE says the conference will address "to recent changes in the Lafayette Parish School System Learn Lafayette Reopening Plan."

Yesterday, LPSS Superintendent Irma Trosclair announced on a local radio show that children in grades K through 5 would attend school daily, face-to-face. That's a change from previous re-opening announcments which mentioned hybrid models of some days at home alternating with some days at school. Children in grades 6 through 12 still would use the hybrid model. To read about that, click here.

LPAE says it is the largest professional education organization in Lafayette representing more than one thousand members including teachers, support professionals, bus drivers, and administrators.

Attending this press conference will be local leadership from LPAE including President Julia Reed, as well as leadership from the Louisiana Association of Educators, the organization says.
