Louisiana State Police is investigating an officer involved shooting near Milton
Troopers say they were called to the scene on August 27, 2019, requested by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) to investigate an officer-involved shooting incident involving their department.
An investigation revealed that at around 11:00 pm, LPSO deputies were dispatched to a residence on Espasie Drive. At some point, a man exited the residence armed with a gun and was shot by at least one deputy. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
No officers were injured during the incident.
Troopers have not released the name of the man who was shot during the incident.
This remains an active investigation.
