State Police are now escorting Gov. Kathleen Blanco's casket from Lafayette to Baton Rouge.
Troopers lined up outside Walters Funeral Home on University Avenue to escort the former governor to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baton Rouge where Celebration of Life services will begin today, August 22.
The services begin at 10:00 am and will air LIVE on KATC, KATC.com and the KATC app.

Following the service, an Honor Procession will be held from 12:30 pm - 12:45 pm on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol.
Blanco will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda guarded by Louisiana State Police Troopers.
Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday at the state capitol. It will continue on Friday and Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Lafayette.
In Lafayette a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 22 at 10:30 am at the Cathedral.
The family requests that donations be made to the Governor Kathleen Blanco Public Policy Center via the University of Louisiana - Lafayette Foundation in lieu of flowers.
