LAFAYETTE, La. — The man wanted in connection with a fight that led to a shooting on Hebert Road in Lafayette is now in custody.
According to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, Joseph DeVoltz is being held on four counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of simple burglary in connection with the January 5 incident.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, DeVoltz got into an argument with two people at a home on Hebert Road. Investigators say DeVoltz went back to his own home after the argument, got a rifle, and returned to the scene. That when, investigators say, DeVoltz shot at a man and his three sons as they got out of a car.
No one was injured in the shooting. The car sustained some damage.
