At tonight's meeting, the Lafayette Parish School Board is expected to advance two classroom wing projects.

The projects, at Broadmoor Elementary and L.J. Alleman Middle, have been in the design phase for most of this year. Now staff are recommending construction contracts be awarded.

Lemoine Company is being recommended for the Broadmoor project, which will replace 25 portable classrooms and cost about $6.9 million.

Lemoine Company also is being recommended for the Alleman project, which will replace 26 portable classrooms and cost about $7.3 million.

The board also will consider awarding a $600,000 contract to move portables to Southside High School. To read our story about that click here.

The meeting starts at 5;30 p.m. in the board room of the Central Office on Chaplin Drive.
