LAFAYETTE, La. - Police have released the name of the person who is wanted for allegedly shooting two people.
The suspect is identified as Joseph Broussard, 21 of Lafayette. Broussard has warrants for his arrest for two counts of attempted second degree murder. Police are asking Broussard to turn himself in.
The Lafayette Police Department received a call at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in reference to shots fired in the 1100 block of Moss Street, according to Sgt. Nicole Oakes, spokesperson for the Department.
Once on the scene, two victims were located. They were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police initially believed Broussard was barricaded in one of the apartments where the victims were located. SWAT was able to breach the door of that apartment and did not locate him.
The 1100 block of Moss Street was closed at the time in both directions.
If you have any information on this case, call 337-291-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS.
