One injured in shooting on E Simcoe Street in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE — One person has been taken to a local hospital following an shooting on E Simcoe Street.

Police tell KATC that the shooting occurred in the 1600 block of the roadway just after 10:00 p.m. Witnesses say the shooting occurred near the housing authority on E Simcoe.

Police say one person was shot and received injuries to the upper torso. The victim was taken to a local hospital. They are searching for two suspects in connection with the shooting.

Public Information Officer Wayne Griffin says that the two suspects in the shooting fled before officers arrived on scene.
