Two people are dead following a shooting in the 100 block of South Orleans Drive in Lafayette.
Lafayette Police said they responded to the 100 block of S. Orleans Dr. Lafayette, La, on Monday at approximately 9:46 p.m. in regards to a shooting.
When officers arrived they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers began to render first aid.
One of the victims was pronounced dead on scene and the other victim was transported by Acadian Ambulance to a local hospital. The second victim later died at the hospital.
The victims have been identified as Denzel Smith 21, of Lafayette and Codie Laday 22, of Lafayette.
Lafayette Police Department Investigators are actively working the incident and following leads.
