There are currently more than 1,700 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across Louisiana.
But Wednesday night, that number is down by one.
Staff at Ochsner Lafayette General cheered as Acadiana resident Ms. Paula left the hospital after a 25-day stay.
Her departure marked a new milestone for the hospital - she was Ochsner Lafayette's 1,500th COVID-19 discharge.
In a post on Facebook, hospital staff wished Ms. Paula well on her continued recovery.
