Monroe Police are asking for information after they found the body of a Lafayette man yesterday.

Ryan Stroud, 33, was in Monroe for treatment at the New Day Recovery center, police say. His body was found in the Ouachita River Monday morning.

Bicyclers discovered the body on the Monroe side of the river approximately 200 yards south of the bike trail at Forsythe Park near the boat dock, police say.

Police say there were no signs of trauma or foul play, but Stroud's body was sent to Arkansas for an autopsy. Stroud's family lives in Lafayette, and told police that he had struggled with alcohol and drug addiction.

Police are now trying to determine where he was before he died, or who he may have been with.

Anyone with information about Stroud's movements prior to his death is asked to call the Monroe Police Department at 318-329-2600.
