The main branch of the Lafayette Public Library will be closed on Saturday, October 3, the library announced Thursday evening.
According to a post on the library's Facebook page, the closure is due to "activities taking place in the downtown area." Administrators didn't elaborate on whether the closure was related to a planned protest downtown in Parc Sans Souci on Saturday.
We've reached out for the library for comment, but have not heard back yet.
Regular library hours will resume on Sunday.
