Lourdes Blood Center will resume operations tomorrow, and they need donors.
The center reports that their supply is very low.
"Not only have we been dealing with COVID putting our supply in a critical state, we now have to deal with extreme winter weather for this area," says Beverly Meche, with donor recruitment. "Our Lady of Lourdes Blood Center has been unable to collect blood donations at all Monday or Tuesday due to the extreme winter conditions. This puts us two days behind our already struggling blood inventory.
"We do plan to resume operations on Wednesday, Feb 17. We ask that any and all who are able to donate blood to make the effort to contact us to make an appointment or just come to our blood center as soon as possible to help us fill this gap. We are in need of blood and platelet donations," Meche continues.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon. To find out how you can help, call the center at 470-4483.
