A large pine limb fell on a major transmission line tonight, leaving Slemco customers in Broussard without power.
Slemco spokesperson Mary Laurent said it's not uncommon for branches or trees to be weakened by high winds - like we had with Laura a few weeks ago - and then fall during the next storm.
Although it hasn't been stormy in Broussard today, it has been windy. The power went out about 7:15 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. it was back on in some areas.
Laurent said it might be 9:30 p.m. before all customers were back on.
