LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Consolidated Government has hired a new municipal liaison.
According to an LCG spokesperson, Nathan Broussard will serve in the unclassified position that was previously held by Marcus Bruno, who served as former Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux's assistant for governmental affairs.
Broussard started in the position on Jan. 20 and will receive a $50,000 salary, which is about $40,000 less than what Bruno was paid each year.
Broussard's duties will include attending municipal council meetings and will offer help on legislative matters.
He will also attend certain meetings in place of Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory or Chief Administrative Officer Cydra Wingerter.
