Lafayette Parish is under a curfew tonight starting at 8 p.m. and lasting until 6 a.m. Sunday.
A release from Lafayette Consoilidated Government says the decision was made after consulting with the mayors, chiefs of police and fire chiefs in the parish.
The curfew is necessary because of power outages and extensive debris.
Only emergency, recovery, and essential personnel will be allowed to travel during the curfew. The curfew may be extended if the situation warrants.
