Family and friends were invited to join a parade to show their love for residents of Lady of the Oaks retirement manor in Lafayette.
At 10 am on Friday, May 1, residents made their way to the manor's front yard to wave and cheer as their loved ones drove by.
Signs sharing messages of "I love you's" and hope for future hugs decorated cars and were held by residents.
The retirement manor says that residents had been looking forward to the parade all week.
One employee was touched by the outpouring of love by family members at the parade.
"It's so heartwarming. Some of them haven't seen them in so long. They're starting to cry. It's been a blessing to be here for them and letting them know that their families are out there, loving on them, so it's been amazing," said Faith Roy, Rehab Director at Lady of the Oaks.
