LAFAYETTE, La. — Thursday night, the Lafayette Parish School System announced new pay raises for substitute employees.
School board members approved a pay raise for substitute teachers and bus drivers.
Pay for certified substitute teachers will increase from $100 a day to $120.
Substitute bus drivers will be making $115 a day -- up from $56. Substitute bus attendants will earn $72.50 per day.
These new pay rates are effective immediately.
