LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Parish School System says they have been approved for the Meal-To-You Program to provide meals to students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program is a partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Louisiana Department of Education and the Baylor University Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty.

As part of the program, LPSS says that students will receive a box containing 10 or more meals that meet nutritional requirements. Those boxes will be delivered directly to the student's residence.

Students must meet the following qualifications to be eligible

  • All students receiving free or reduced lunch are eligible for the free Meals-To-You Program
  • Any Student attending a school participating in the Community Eligibility Provisions Program (CEP) is eligible to participate in the Meals-To-You Program
