Lafayette Consolidated Government announced the closure of its cooling station.
The cooling station at the Domingue Recreation Center will cease operations beginning Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
The station provided relief from the heat since opening nearly two weeks ago on August 23.
LCG said turnout was low with a total of 14 occasions of individuals seeking relief from the heat.
