The Lafayette City and Parish Councils are giving Mayor-President Josh Guillory the go-ahead to develop plans to prevent flooding along the Vermilion River.
According to the resolution approved by the council Tuesday night, Guillory is expected to give a presentation on these plans in the next 45 days.
The councils also introduced an ordinance to make the East Regional Library an early voting location.
