Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette is hoping to bring much needed relief to those affected by Hurricane Laura.
The church has partnered with Catholic Charities of Acadiana and Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana to collect items for those most in need.
Several items are being requested for the drive which began on Tuesday, September 8.
Those wishing to help in supplying items can drop them off under the carport at the old rectory at the church located on Robley Drive.
Drop-off hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. and Fridays from 8:30 am until 12:00 pm.
Items needed include:
- unused cleaning supplies (mops, buckets, etc.)
- baby items (diapers, wipes, formula)
- paper goods (paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, disposable cutlery)
- soap & hand sanitizer
- tarps
- non-perishable food items
- bottled water
- Visa gift cards ( will be used for necessary items such as personal medication)
- Monetary donations (donation can be made online at Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana's website. Checks can also be made to Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana and dropped off at Holy Cross)
Clothes, opened packages and homemade food items will not be accepted.
