The Lafayette Airport Commission has received a $2 million grant for parking construction and rehabilitation at Lafayette Regional Airport.
The grant was awarded by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce's Economic Development Administration.
According to a release, the grant will be matched with $3.38 million in local investments and is expected to create 82 jobs.
The parking areas created from the funds will serve the Lafayette Airport's new passenger terminal building. Planning efforts were led by the Acadiana Planning Commission.
