Injuries reported following shooting incident overnight in Lafayette

Lafayette Police say that no one was seriously injured following a shots fired incident overnight.

Police say that at 1:23 a.m., officers responded to a local banquet hall in the 200 block of St. Antoine Street in reference to someone discharging a weapon inside. A group of people were gathered for an event at the banquet hall, according to LPD.

Upon arrival, officers located six victims suffering from gunshot injuries. Lafayette police say that no one was shot, but a gun went off and several people were injured from fragments. All sustained non-life threatening injuries; some were transported to a local hospital and were later released.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
