On Thursday, anglers can cast their lines for rainbow trout at the Girard Park pond.

The pond is one of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Get Out and Fish sites. LDWF stocked the pond early Thursday morning with adult-size, rainbow trout, weighing one to two pounds.

The Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) Parks and Recreation Department partners with LDWF to continually stock the pond with a variety of fish.

Southside Regional Park/Fabacher Field in Youngsville will also be stocked with Rainbow Trout.

Ages 16 and older must have a Louisiana fishing license when fishing in any Louisiana public waters. Licenses can be purchased at https://la-web.s3licensing.com/.
