A group of organizations and businesses in Carencro are offering free jambalaya this week to those in need.

The give-away will be Wednesday at Carencro High, near the gym. There will be 500 meals available on a first-come, first-served basis. You must come in a vehicle, and you must stay in your vehicle. There is a limit of two meals per vehicle.

The meals are available starting at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. or they're all gone.

The sponsors of the event include the Carencro Mardi Gras Association, Molded Rubber, Super One Foods, Chief David Anderson, Jeremy Deville of Evangeline Maid, Pat's Printing, and cooks Craig Prejean and Keith Leblanc.
