The streets of downtown Lafayette were the staging ground for a virtual murder mystery game on Saturday.
CluedUpp Games is an award-winning British games studio that specialized in creating unique, outdoor adventure games, according to their website. The "Lafayette Ripper" was a sold out event, but the company said they will be back in Lafayette soon.
Using a smartphone app, teams of detectives scramble all over town, hunting down virtual witnesses, eliminating suspects and seeing if you have what it takes to crack the case. On average the game last two hours depending on the skills of the detective team.
One team says it was fun to get out and safely do something social again.
"Super excited to do something that was socially distanced where we can all hang out together and see people and be downtown," explained Kellie Viola, part of the Sherlock Hommies. "We miss downtown a lot and just to get out of the house and do something really fun together."
