The Acadiana Area Human Services District (AAHSD) will host their "It's A Christmas Extravaganza" on Sunday, December 8 at the Comeaux Recreation Center.

The event will be held in partnership with Lafayette Parks and Recreation, Families Helping Families of Acadiana and Healthy Blue.

Returning for its second year, the 'Christmas Extravaganza' event will feature games, food and prizes all geared toward individuals with developmental disabilities.

All are welcome to attend the event from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

"The Christmas Extravaganza is an opportunity for the families of individuals with disabilities to come out, enjoy food and fun in an environment created for all to participate," says Brad Farmer, Executive Director of AAHSD. "We are excited to offer a bit of holiday cheer with the help of our community partners and Santa Claus, who I hear is specifically flying down from the North Pole for this event."

This event is free to the public, but registration is required. To register, visit the Eventbrite page.

Those with questions about the event can contact Johnnie Washington, Assistant Director of Developmental Disabilities at (337) 262-1773.
