Carencro High School has announced a graduates parade and are asking for the public to help celebrate.
The parade will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2020, the original graduation date for seniors at Carencro High.
The school says on that Saturday they will parade their graduates through the City of Carencro.
The parade will start around 2:00 pm according to guidelines set up the the school for the parade. Those guidelines for both students and the public can be viewed below:
Graduation Parade Riders/Drivers:
- One senior and one driver per vehicle (2 people maximum per vehicle)
- If senior is driving, there can be no other passengers in the vehicle
- Line up begins at 1 pm
- Use the HOME Entrance (Bldg 2 side) to enter Bear Circle and loop around the football stadium.
- Remain in your vehicle while waiting for the parade to roll out.
- Parade will promptly roll at 2 pm
- You must be in line before 2 pm to be included in the parade
- Carencro Police will lead the parade. set the pace and secure the end of the parade.
- Parade route will begin at Carencro High School and end at the Carencro Community Center on N. University Avenue
- During the parade, keep a safe distance from the vehicles ahead of you
- At the end of the parade, seniors must disburse from the Community Center immediately. No Loitering at the Community Center.
- Loitering before, during or after the parade is prohibited
- Decorate your car (school appropriate decorations) to celebrate the senior
- Dress in your cap and gown (secure the cap to your head, No Tassel)
- Honking and celebrating throughout the parade route are encouraged
- Attendance is not mandatory, but highly encouraged
Parade Crowd:
- Social distancing is encouraged along the parade route
- Masks are encouraged as well
- Please, no throws to the crowds
- No stopping during the parade for any reason
Organizers ask that everyone follow the rules set forth by the Louisiana Governor, Carencro Chief of Police, and the Principal of CHS.
They say that any violations of these guidelines are at your own risk, and police may ask you to leave
