A Boy Scout troop in Lafayette was raising money today with a poboy and bake sale.

Organizers with Troop 162, which meets at St. Edmonds Catholic Church, say they meet almost every Sunday to work together and provide service to the community.

"We have about 40 to 45 scouts that are active in our troop, they meet every Sunday," said troop leader Paula Miguez. "We go camping, we go hiking, we go backpacking, we do adventures, we do cmmunity service, we do work for the church, and we do our sausage poboy sale."

Scout Blayden Johnson said he enjoys the activities because he gets a chance to see what he can do.

"What I like is all the campouts that we get to go to," he says. "Basically the adults don't give us everything that we need to do. We have to cook our own food. We have to set up our own tents. We are the ones who have to try and survive on our own."
