Blue Dog Café in Lafayette has closed its doors, owners announced on Facebook Thursday evening.

The closure is due to the economic downturn during the COVID-19 pandemic, they said.

"We would like to express our deepest appreciation for our staff and patrons who have been with us over the past 20 years," the restaurant added.

Blue Dog is hopeful the closure is temporary as owners and staff explore options for the best way they can reopen once the market has stabilized.

The café is located at 1211 W Pinhook Rd.
