LAFAYETTE, La. — UPDATE (5/2): Lafayette Police say the bicyclist who was struck on Evangeline Thruway is in critical condition, but is stable.
Update (8:38 p.m.) - LA DOTD is reporting that US 167 South at I-49 South is now open; congestion is minimal. LA DOTD is also reporting that the exit ramp from I-10 East and West to US 167 South is now open; congestion is minimal.

The Lafayette Police Department is responding to a traffic accident near the intersection of NW Evangeline Thruway and Chalmette Drive in Lafayette along I-49.
LPD said that a bicyclist was struck while crossing near intersection.
The Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development is reporting that US 167 South is closed at I-49 South due to an accident.
DOTD says that congestion is minimal and motorists are advised to take an alternate route.
KATC has a crew en route and will have more details as they become available.
